Morning Mist's litter =)

This litter turned out really, really nice! Out of the 6, we are keeping back 3, which is almost unheard of from me, LOL! We are keeping SSR's Emma, the lilac chinchilla doe, SSR's Hannah, the chocolate chinchilla doe, and SSR's ????, the black chinchilla buck! One of the chesnuts will be going to live with Sharen , a local Mini Lop breeder just getting started. The other chesnut to Qadoshyah of Hoppin Herd of Hares on a trade for AW's Merlot, which I will hopefully be getting soon =)! And lastly the blue chinchilla will be going to Sara as a Pet/4H Project! I am happy they are all going to such great homes!

For other news, my Rabbit Tatt came in the mail today! I can't wait to try it out! =D

Membership sent in and Rabbit Tat!

I sent in for my MLRCA membership a few days ago as well as ordering a Rabbitat! I'm excited to start doing my own tatooes, I was not liking having to ask people to keep tatooing my bunnies! Thanks everyone who did, by the way =) Without you guys, many of my bunnies would have been DQ'd, LOL!

Morning Mist's babies are turning out gorgeous, I'm pretty sure they all have new homes lined up already. We will be keeping the lilac chinchilla and the chocolate chinchilla for further evaluation. We're hoping they'll both be keepers =D We are loving their type already! Now just to think of names, heehee

Updates Done!

I've gotten all the updates for the website done! New pictures on the litter's page, juniors page, and I've also made a page for Morning Mist's babies!

Also, I'm currently trying to get a Youth ML Specialty Show organized for the Double Youth Show during October in Bakersfield! I'm still waiting to hear back from the Club's president. I'm hoping that he approves though =)

In this blog I put some pictures of Morning Mist's babies =) Enjoy!

Updating

I'm going to be updating the whole website over the next few days, so please bear with us! I took pictures of all the juniors today, to update their pictures and I also needed to add a few. Some are not so great, they weren't very cooperative, LOL! I'm also making a page for my new litter to be on, so far I've just got the background done. . . but it's getting there =) Don't forget to sign my guestbook!

I recieved deposits for Raymond, Blue Moon, and Purple Haze a few days ago. So, they are as of now on hold =) I hope that their new owners appreciate and are as rewarded with them as I was! I am going to especially miss Raymond, but I know he is going to go to a great new home, and get lots of dates with some eastern does :p

You probably won't see much news other than the occasional website update until September, since during the summer months nothing rabbit related happens really. Showing slows down because of the heat. I can't breed does, since carrying a litter is hard on them during the summer. I probably won't have anything for sale until around August, since I had a large herd reduction this Spring.

**SSR's -----, Black Chesnut

Grand Total - 21 rabbits in 19 holes, with 6 of those being kits

I like to stay around the 15 mark as much as possible, it just makes everything a lot easier on me, as far as upkeep and feed costs concerns. I truly love having such a small rabbitry, since it enables me to be able to give each and every rabbit individual attention and socialization. I pride myself on having any rabbit born in my barn to be able to go to anybody as a sweet, loving pet. Also, I love the challenge a limited number of holes presents you with. You are constantly needing to realize that you need to trim the fat of your herd, in able for it to continue to improve . Of course, there are upsides to a larger rabbitry that I occasionally miss. Most people with larger rabbitry get to grow out a larger number of bunnies and also will always have more to show. I know I could never handle a large rabbitry though, just with all the labor having a larger number of bunnies presents.

They are here!

I got both of my bunnies today from Teri today =) They are doing extremely well so far, and are oh so friendly! They are very promising, I think they will do well at the Fall shows! I *love* the genetic condition on Nicole's bunnies, they are naturally just very smooth and always have a great coat of fur on them! The little boy is gonna be called Nick, on account of me buying the bunnies from Nicole =)

Pictures will be coming soon for both of them on my website. We're going to be having several days of 100+ degree heat and the bunnies are always slouching when it's hot out since they are just trying to cool themselves! Actually, I need to get some pictures of then, Chocolate Perfection, a broken chocolate buck I am holding back from Truffle's litter, and some updated pictures of Apple Cinnamon and Morning Mist's babies.

Morning Mist's babies are all thriving wonderfully! She's doing a great job at feeding her kits. With the extreme heat, and with me having an outdoor rabbitry, I felt it would be best if I refrain from putting them out there except for the night time. I am very excited to see how they are going to turn out type wise, since these are my first kits from one of my herd bucks, Sundance Kid, a registered Opal with 3 junior legs. He will be my main herd buck for this fall, so I'm hoping that he passes on his type and then some! He is pictured in this blog =)
