And I am so excited for it! =D
The summer show lull has been so extremely hard on me! My last show was at the beginning of June and my next one is not until the end up September, which is about a month away, which is the Santa Maria show. It's a double open/double youth, with a few specialties (including Youth & Open Mini Lops!) Here's my show list -
Open Specialty -
SSR's Sundance Kid - SSB - Opal
Milkhouse's Dusty - SSD - Blue
Velotta's Sparkling Silver - SJD - Chinchilla
Youth Specialty -
SSR's Sundance Kid - SSB - Opal
Milkhouse's Dusty - SSD - Blue
Velotta's Sparkling Silver - SJD - Chinchilla
JT's Purple Haze - BSB - Lilac
SSR's Chocolate Perfection - BJB - Chocolate
Double Open -
SSR's Sundance Kid - SSB - Opal
Milkhouse's Dusty - SSD - Blue
Double Youth -
SSR's Jack - SJB - Chinchilla
Milkhouse's ZB2 - SSD - Blue Steel
Velotta's Sparkling Silver - SJD - Chinchilla
SSR's Chocolate Perfection - BJB - Chocolate
Velotta's Nick - BJB - Opal
I'm keeping my showing list to a minimum, since I only want to show the ones I think will have a really good chance at winning. As you notice, I'm not showing any babies from my February litters. That's because they aren't mature enough yet to compete with all the senior animals. Hopefully by the October 27th Shafter Show they will be ready =)
I'll also be breeding Milkhouse's Dusty, my registered blue doe with one leg, to MGM's Wyatt Earp, a Registered Grand Champion REW buck with around 30 Legs! He is the #1 Youth Top Lop for the '06-'07 year =) I'll be expecting blues, smoke pearls, blue steels, and smoke pearl steels.

Junior Buck For Sale!
Here's some information on a junior buck I have for sale right now! He'll be available at the Santa Maria Show in September, where he will be shown! Sorry, this picture isn't the best! He was sliding around due to the slippery surface ;)
Jack is a super promising boy! I'm loving how his head & crown are currently developing! He's also got a super little body right now! He's got some HQ's, as well as nice depth and width! The only reason I decided to let him go is because I'm keeping two of his sisters and I'm not sure if he's nicer than his dad (I think they will be the same but I like dad's color better)If he shows well expect him to stay here =D. Snatch him up before I change my mind! Email me at ssrrabbits@sbcglobal.net for price & more info!

AW's Merlot
Yesterday I went to Bakersfield to exchange bunnies =) Qadoshyah sent down AW's Merlot, a RGC steel doe with 4 Legs, and I am sending back a cute 'lil chesnut doe for her (SSR's Amber). I was really happy with that trade! Merlot is a gorgeous doe, with excellent body type! She's a really thick, massive girl! I love her shoulders & HQ's. The only thing I'd like to see more of is depth, so I bred her to my Broken Opal buck, Velotta's Raymond, today. Since Merlot carries dilute I am expecting some blue & black varieties in broken and solid. I'll try to get some pictures of her for my site soon!
I also updated my website some today. I currently have a *Nice* chinchilla buck for sale! I would hold onto him if I wasn't so pressed for cage space right now! I can bring him to the Santa Maria show next month =)

Upcoming Breedings
Here are some breedings that I'm planning to do soon =)
August 15th -
Velotta's Raymond, RGC, 6 Legs X AW's Merlot, RGC, 4 Legs
I'm expecting some really typey little bunnies in black and blue bases =) Should be gorgeous kids with some awesome heads! This will be Raymond's last litter here before he heads of to TN to live with Nora of Nora's Flop Shop =)
September 22nd -
MGM's Wyatt Earp, RGC, 30 Legs, 4 BIS X Milkhouse's Dusty, R, 1 Leg
There are BIS winners on both of their pedigrees, hopefully this match will give me one of my own =) I'm expecting shaded and blue bases with some pretty awesome type =) Both of these bunnies are very, very nicely typed and I'm just so excited to breed these two! This will be a Coop breeding between me and Shianne of MGM Rabbitry =) Thanks so much Shianne for letting me have this breeding!
I am also contemplating breeding a doe to JT's Purple Haze before he leaves in October. I think i might breed him to Blue Ice, but I'm not sure I want to risk getting tons of charlies. They should mesh well together, they're type is very complementary =)
BTW - I have updated the website, I just haven't updated the front page lol

News n' Such
Sorry for my lack of activity with this blog lately, I've been a bit busy!
Morning Mist's litter is doing great. We are going to sell the little black chin buck, to a new Mini Lop breeder to help her out with her herd =) I'm sure he'll do great things for her! We are still keeping his two sisters, SSR's Emma and SSR's Hannah, since they will be replacements for their mom. I was really excited with just the overall quality of this litter, I'm still happy with my choice of a herdsire for this fall. I have a feeling Sundance will not let me down =)
We will hopefully be getting a new doe here soon, via a trade from Qadoshyah of Hoppin Herd of Hares! Her name is AW's Merlot, a silver tipped black steel doe originally from Amy Wright. She's a lovely RGC doe with 4 legs. I'm excited to get this girl so I can breed her to Raymond! Since Merlot carries dilute, I hope I will get some nice dilute kids from that litter! Thanks so much Qadoshyah for being able to part with this gal!
Our next show will be Santa Maria show on September 22nd. Even though it is far away, we are very excited for it! We plan to enter in both youth shows, the youth specialty (hosted by the GSYMLC!), the open specialty (hosted by the SCMLC I think? lol), and possibly one or two in the double open shows =) Hopefully Apple Cinnamon and Sundance Kid will be done with their molts, I'd love it if they finally granded!
I am also trying to get a youth Mini Lop specialty at the October 27th Double youth show in Shafter, hosted by the KCRBA!
